Kaydee: The Drill (Prod. By LA Chase)
I feel The Transition is my official debut project because it is my first project to consist of all original material and goes into depth about certain issues, like my personal life.
Hailing from Toronto Canada, Kaydee released a project in December 2012 called 90’s Baby, but it was more of a freestyle tape from instrumentals from that era. 90s Baby did remarkably well in terms of generating a buzz from online and in his own city for its lyricism and story telling. This new found buzz has also enabled him to be apart of this years Canadian Music Week where Kay will perform alongside Flatbush Zombies and Bodega Bamz. Currently, he is prepping for the release of his “début” project called The Transition. The album is considered to be Kay’s first true coming out to hip-hop with all original material and in-depth look on certain issues, like his personal life. Out of these songs, “the Drill” was one of the top favorites while recording the album, but it didn’t feel great at the time for the concept of the album itself.
Anyone who has followed him these last couple of years know how hard this rising artist has worked in terms of perfecting his craft and is someone on our radar as we continue to get a lot of love from our friends up north. Check out the single and take a listen for yourself and follow him @KaydeeTR.
