Dodgr is really dope, kind of reminds me of a female Chance The Rapper but her production and style is little more out there.

2015 seems to be a huge comeback year for R&B as a genre, while at the same time genre lines are becoming more and more blurred everyday. A new wave of artists find themselves combining rap, with R&B vocals, dance tempos, or even half-time, trapped out drum patterns. Enter Portland Producer, Neill Von Tally and Portland via LA vocalist, The Last Artful, Dodgr and their new collaborative effort Fractures. Just under 9 minutes of play time, the term collaboration is definitely not used lightly for this 3-track release distributed by former NBA star Martell Webster’s new label, EYRST. While Dodgr approaches every instrumental with an ever evolving flow, stylistic delivery, and standout tone, she also importantly knows when and where to let Neill’s soundscapes breathe, giving added life to every song. At times very dark and moody, Fractures takes the listeners on a roller coaster ride of emotion and energy. From the bouncy Slick Devious featured track, “In Demand” to the reflective, spiritual closing theme “Foreclosure,” Neill and Dodgr truly achieve a unique vibe on this project that leaves listeners wondering what’s next for these two artists. Available on iTunes, Spotify, and more 11:11, also be sure to stay tuned for an upcoming Fresh Selects x The Last Artful, Dodgr project, plus much more music from Neill and the EYRST family on the way.

More Info On The Last Artful, Dodgr
The Last Artful, Dodgr is a rare treat in this realm. A Lost Angeleno existing in the cozy throws of Portland, OR, where the possibilities are limitless and the trees are as abundant as the roses. She’s a threat in every dimension; equipped with memorable melodies, an agile flow, and puckish, often ostentatious wordplay.

You won’t forget the voice as soon as you hear it. Sonically, Dodgr has the ability to adapt to anything. A chameleon through and through, she changes the timbre of her voice with the gust of the wind; all while remaining true to herself and the artform.

Dodgr is dropping an EP titled Fractures with producer Neill Von Tally this November and will follow that up with a projects coming out under Fresh Selects and EYRST in 2016. Keep a watchful eye on The Last Artful, Dodgr, the future has far more of this story to tell.

More Info On Neill Von Tally
Born in Seattle and raised in Portland, Neill Von Tally, is a true product of his environment. Northwest to the core, when he isn’t making beats (he usually is) you can find him surfing at the Oregon Coast. His time as an EMT took him to California, Boston, and Ghana, and the musical influences he took in around the world are apparent in his music.

Neill is a bonafide beat master. His beats have been used by many Northwest rappers and singers for self expression. His music provides a unique mix of eclectic samples, syncopated drums, and an affinity for the unusual. “My sounds are places,” says Neill, “each song is intended to take you to a certain place, a place that may be different for everybody.”

Neill dedicates himself to the exploration of not only music but also visual art. This was a major factor when he conceptualized and founded EYRST with Martell Webster in late 2014. EYRST aims to put a spotlight on talented Northwest artists and to explore the relationship between modern music culture and fashion.
